He certainly sounds determined.
A most likeable and intelligent young man. So refreshing and so different to your average footballer. I like the lad and hope he gets his chance from now on.
A very impressive young man, very articulate too. I hope he’s picked tomorrow as it sounds like impressing Pep will be high on his list of priorities.

Worker at the Saints shop resigned and was given a 3 year football banning order for obscenities yelled at Brighton fans...presumably far worse than the one example given here. Idiot....lost his job and his main hobby.

As usual in an Echo story, some of the comments are more than a little worrying!
If that's all he said then 3 years seems a bit harsh to me, though it's likely he did say more and seems like a bit of a knob.

Even if that was all he said, it was enough. There are no degrees of homophobia, you’re either homophobic in your behaviour or you’re not. To me that’s no different to shouting a direct homophobic term.
I agree it needs to be stamped out I just think 3 years is quite harsh. A poster on the Brighton forum suggested that these offences should carry a smaller ban and attendance to a group of people who have suffered bullying/abuse so they can see the impact it can have on people.
I think that's a great idea personally and would be more productive. Second offence then slap a 5yr+ ban on them.
I feel sure he said worse than they've published, but there are degrees to everything. I don't agree that everything is at the same level. No one considered that chant commonly aimed at Brighton as anything but a joke until a few years ago. So now people are taking offence it is reasonable to stop doing it, but to say that everyone who sung it previously is homophobic is wrong. However, I'm sure that was the least offensive thing he said.
I expect you're probably right and it's a case of they can't print other stuff they said.
