After Ndidi apparently but he won't join us as we don't pay big money.

Perhaps because they subsidised it....limited their liability.

This isn't new news, but McCarthy talking about his future as his contract runs out soon at Saints. There are other ways to the top...he should look for alternative ways to forge ahead and look forward to the day he comes back to haunt us. No team has room for all its youngsters, so good luck to him.
Did you not know there is a direct correlation between intelligence, or lack of, and footballing ability!Copied this from SaintsWeb.....apparently a brain is a hindrance to a footballer.
''From what I've read JWP is an intelligent guy. Son of a barrister, albeit a Skate, I believe he was clever enough for a top Uni place. This isn't the norm with footballers and may explain why it has taken him a little longer to get where he is. Very good player now and will only get better''.
And Alan Shearer. In "Taking Le Tiss" Matt devotes a whole chapter to the denseness of the great man's mind. My favourite was when he was asked what he wanted in his lunchtime omelette: "Egg", came the reply.Did you not know there is a direct correlation between intelligence, or lack of, and footballing ability!
Explains everything, two England legends: Rooney and Beckham!
Especially if Cedric disappears to Barcelona/Chelsea as Pied will be ready soon and McCarthy has had a good years experience in a tough league and done very well. Be a shame for him not to get his chanceSee I think we do have room for him ... he could do a good job at RB, and extra CB cover as well.

Agreed - deserves a chance like McQueen/Stephens/Sims have had, in my opinion.
Not convinced Pied will be a long-term solution either - McCarthy certainly could be.

Don't think there's any evidence in yet anyway. Not quite a matter of not being convinced, rather than let's see the guy play so we can make a judgement.
Agree TSS, SF4L what exactly is it that makes you say that about Pied? Haven't really got anything to judge him on have we?
He would possibly have become first choice RB but for his injury. Martina would have gone before the end of August too.Nothing to judge him on at all - just gives me a Martina feel as in he's a stop-gap backup and someone who the manager trusts.
Someone put me out of my misery. Is this Portswood, but from an angle I'm not hugely familiar with.?
