Just compared the table to last season and it makes for very interesting reading. We actually have the same number of points after 16 games, not bad when you throw in the Europa and EFL games. Goal difference is down but we sit ninth now against 12th last season.

It's obvious to everyone that we are a generally hard to beat team and we are creating chances, just need a few additions in attack to get more goals, I'm sure the board are working on it.

I think that generally speaking Puel is doing a great job, while also giving youth a chance, would love for him to beat koemans points total, if not the league position!

Dave McLaren used to drive some of the fans to drink. If he didn't think he could reach a ball he didn't move, prompting claims that he didn't try. Absolute crap. Just took the view that diving spectacularly to make it look like he'd tried wasted energy and risked injury. A very solid keeper. RIP.

Great free kick. Bale? Wonder what ever happened to him.

Just drifted into obscurity, I think. Had a spell with Spurs, but you won't find him in the Premier League now. Shame. He could have done well if he'd stayed. Look and learn, the current team. The grass is rarely greener.

If he'd stayed with us he could have had a Johnsons Paint Trophy winner's medal to put in his trophy cabinet!

I met Dave once when he was doing some GK coaching at Andover Town. This explains why Andover never won anything. RIP Dave <rose>

I think he was Welsh as well, wasn't he? Just think, he could have been one of the top scorers at this year's Euros if he'd only tried harder...

One outstanding thing about Puel is that he certainly knows how to rotate a squad and still have them playing at a high level. Any criticisms I might aim at him would be carping, at best. He's been a hemmed in by his lack of striking options up until now. But honestly, he managing [football manager, after all] with them well.

I found out, on Saturday, that one of my great-nephews, who lives in Bristol, is being scouted by both of the Bristol clubs, plus a certain south coast club, that wears red and white stripes, amongst others.
What exactly do they look for, in a 6 year old?
