Not sure if it's been mentioned or not before. I'm currently on holiday just outside Falmouth in Cornwall. On the way here from Southampton, we stopped at a Tesco in Launceston and while paying I clocked someone wearing a football shirt with what looked like the Saints badge on, I had to do a double take as I didn't recognise the kit at all, thinking it may have been an obscure training top from a few years ago, I suddenly noticed the badge wasn't right. It wasn't the Saints badge at all but an homage to our crest by a team called Southgate Colts FC who play in Launceston Here is the crest in question.... Here is the website... http://www.southgatecoltsfc.co.uk/ Has anyone come across this before, not sure how I feel. Both honoured that they have ripped us off and pissed that they have ripped us off! I wonder if the creators are Saints fans?
I remember there was a club that did similar to this in Fleet with the Tottenham badge. They were called “Fleet Spurs” as the founder was a spurs fan. Pretty sure spurs threatened them with legal action until they changed their name & badge. Always thought it was a bit of a dick move
Yeah I wouldn't want us to do that, that would be a proper dick move! The badge is a very unique badge and is very noticeable, I like that about it, if it was a silhouette you would know which team it is. This changes that slightly but most fans across the country would have no clue about Southgate Colts FC. I think on the whole, it's pretty cool really, might get a bit of merch, just over £20 for the black Nike top with their badge and your initials on!
