She wouldn't be allowed in the stadium. I find it kind of disgusting she is being made a Saint.

She was, no doubt, a saintly lady, but for the RC church to canonise her is absolutely ridiculous .............. But then I'm rather anti-church anyway.

Random post: Now that Guly has left Chicago - and I've continued to try and 'find' my MLS team - I've ended up following San Jose Earthquakes.

Anyway, there's a point to this story... there's four links between us and them.

Ronnie Ekelund - yes that Ronnie Ekelund - is the Technical Director of the club right now! Has been since 2008.

Jimmy Gabriel - one for the elders - also played for and managed the Earthquakes. So there's two links between the two clubs!

Ted MacDougall - he went and coached out there for them!

Joe Mallett - played for Saints from 1947–1953, coached the Quakes in 1982.

Also, side point - I posted on a forum of theirs saying I had read their history, seen their team play and liked their identity etc and one of their supporters sent me a box of merchandise and memorabilia, totally free of charge.

They also told me they know who 'Matt Le Tiss' is and a couple of them love his goals. (who doesn't? :))

Lovely stuff. Just wanted to share. :D

Oh and also, one of the Quakes fans wanted to share this and embrace the Southampton connection.

Butland is only 23, we have some pretty good options in goal for England now.

That's the thing, Roy is far more likely to be tapping Butland up on behalf of his beloved Scumpool than he is Fraser.
5 Liverpool players in the squad as well who are likely to do their best to 'encourage' him to join. I think Forster's age will work in our favour, a big money move for Butland is much more likely.
