Wood playing at cb again? I wonder if they will keep him there this season. Last season he played in about 5 different positions.
Yes, him and McCarthy form an excellent center back pairing. Both have experience playing as full backs, both composed on the ball, both tall, strong and quick, one left footed, one right footed. Ideal combination.
Wood played left midfield and cm last season as well as lb,rb and cb. It will be good to see him actually get use to one position for a while.
Also like you said McCarthy is very much seen as a future cb. Despite him playing rb for the first team a few times.

Gazzaniga robbed of the ball after doing some neat skill on the edge of the box. Think it was Gape who managed to recover the loose ball and set Debayo away on the break, he slipped the ball to Isgrove who drove to the byline and cut it back for Barnes to prod home
