No first teamers put in (wondered if Hojbjerg would be - or is he on internationals?) other than McCarthy.

Would've loved to see Virgil forced to play this one!

We're just lacking a bit of talent in the u23's right now i think. if you asked me who our best prospects were last season i would said the likes of Sims(injured), Hesketh(injured), Valery(injured), Olomola(loan), and Alfie Jones. Seager was good prospect before he got injured and hes's on loan too. If you looked at the u23 page of the OS at the end of the season it had 9 players, and that's before loans. Its why i was happy to see us buying youth like our new GK and Jan because i think our academy need an injection of quality at the u23 level to bring out the quality of other players breaking through from the u18's. We have some prospects in the u18 level that i think may well come good like Vokins and Klarer, but it will take time before any of them are breaking through into the first team, although Klarer was training with them the other day.

Let's not forget the lads who are in and around the 23s/18s now, would have been recruited during our finanicial troubles ... im sure that will have had an impact.

A lot of them are gone. Jaidi isn't a good manager and Hunter is a ****.

Is it me or do our U18/U23's pick up an unusual amount of long term injuries? Sims, Hesketh, Valery, Olomola & Seager off the top of my head in the last year or so. I'm sure there's a few more from the last couple of seasons.

Barnes, Gallagher, Targett, Hesketh again.

It always seems to be when there's a chance of breaking through too. Maybe they just push themselves too hard? It certainly seems like there are too many.

Need to bubble wrap Stephens when he's not on the pitch.

Majority of them knee injuries as well - I can think of Slattery, Sims, Hesketh, Gallagher, Valery, Seager, Flannigan & Barnes all had major knee injuries. In some cases, more than one knee injury (Hesketh).
