I imagine he's training with the first team from such a young age because he is supremly talented, but also because we are keen to show him the pathway is open in the hopes that he will sign a professional contract with us when he's old enough. Wouldn't be surprised if someone like Chelsea turns his head (and his parents £££) before he signs with us.
This is the worry. You'd hope the first team opportunities and lessons learned by Dibling may show that the grass isn't always greener. Mind you, if you shove a few £100k at any 16 year old the chances are they will take it!I imagine he's training with the first team from such a young age because he is supremly talented, but also because we are keen to show him the pathway is open in the hopes that he will sign a professional contract with us when he's old enough. Especially with 2 15 year olds starting against lads 6 years their senior - must be extremely well thought of.The Saints v Spurs U21 game is being streamed on Facebook, YouTube and the Saints website (Saintsplay), ko 7pm.
Spurs are unbeaten so could be a tough game.
1 - 1 Bragg pen
1 - 2 down. Commentary lost!
2 - 2 Gomes
2 - 3
Spurs a little lucky to win that.
We had the better chances, first half especially, but couldn’t convert.
The goal by Gomez Rodriguez was very good. Took a 40 yard diagonal pass down with his chest then hit a right foot shot across the keeper into the corner.
Spurs winner was a fluke. A clearance by David hit the Spurs striker flush in the face and rebounded into the net.
