I thought Slattery and Ramsay looked too good for that team. Hopefully they get more first team action this season or a loan. I guess Smallbone and N’Lundulu had travelled with the first team.

That was 90 minutes of my life I will never get back! Really poor Started with a 5-3-2 formation trying to put the long ball over the top of their high line defence with no success and over run in midfield Changed in the second half to 4-4-2 and that looked a bit better but lacking creation up front Slattery looked very good on the ball but was a little enigmatic and didn't dominate the midfield as I would have expected Some comments from the Walsall faithful "Only that lad Slattery would get into our line up" "No wonder their first team is struggling if thats whats coming up" "I thought their academy was supposed to be one of the best" Wouldn't disagree with their comments as I was bitterly disappointed
Do you know what sort of team Walsall put out? I wouldn't expect our u23s to have much of a chance against a League 2 sides first team
Slattery nominated for premier league 2 player of the month. He was always thought of highly and at 20 needs to think about his route to the first team. Hopefully this is an indication that things are going well for him.
