It sounds like a game of poker, bluff and counter bluff.
Someone is going have to give way sooner or later but who is going to give first. ...NC or Wanyama (or his greedy agents). Well my money is on NC to hold his nerve!

To some extent that's true but nobody HAS to give. Wanyama could just stay at Celtic this year. Then they'd have to accept a lower offer in January or next summer.

Sounds more like a game of greedy ****wit. Glad we're out of the running. (cue clingers rage)

I don't know why you're so determined we won't get him, and I don't know why you're intentionally trying to mislead people who might be reading this forum, but we're not out of the running.

I've written an article off the back of several comments both here and on Twitter in regard to transfers these past few days.

When it gets published I'll share it, as if I post it now, it won't get published for the website.

Anyone worried that now Henrik Mkgghdfthingy is going to Dortmund, Liverpool might come back in for Vic?

Well Wanyama certainly wouldn't be a Mkhitaryan replacement, but if it's a case of Liverpool having more funds available as a result then maybe. Seems like a stretch though.

If we do sign Wanyama, I presume the chant will be a variation of -

Wanyama, Ohhh-oooooh x2
He comes from Nairobi,

Then pick one of -

He f'ing hates Pompey/He's having you for tea/He's the size of Shipperley/with a massive agent's fee

Perhaps if we do, then a poll can sort that out....

He will have to be really good if he doesn't want some stick from fans. Very unfair as he has said nothing apart from trusting his agent and no one should blame him for taking time over such an important decision. We all love rumours and discussions about rumours (or we wouldn't be on here), but stories gain legs of their own...none of us really know what is going on.

I'm hoping the gang of people who have already developed personal hatred for him is a vocal minority rather than being a regular theme - surely not everybody is stupid enough to sour to him for doing nothing personally wrong.

We have to accept that very few players will love us...they may consider us and like what they see (or not)...most will consider all options. We are no longer the big fish in the small pond that everyone wants to join....yet!!!;) As long as the player isn't disrespectful (which Wanyama hasn't been) there should be no problem. Sadly, you only need a few vociferous fans to get on a players back...ask Guly and Puncheon. I also hope there isn't a racial undertone to this.

The question is does Wanyama want the bird in the hand...could join us and be in the PL (or shop window as it is known) or wait out another season in the SPL and hope for a 'big' move. Depends if his agent(s) are getting vibes from other teams.

Other teams have looked at him supposedly, but remember what Mauricio said about agents trying to link us to their players as well. Perhaps other teams interests is just baloney or on a very low key level. We probably have to pay higher to get players than say Arsenal or Chelsea have to because of their high profile. Bigger clubs may not want to pay that much on a relatively unproven player. However, anything could happen...who would have thought Buttner would end up at United.
