With Wanyama’s future still very much in the balance, Lennon added: “I need to speak to him and assess how he is feeling.
“I don’t have someone specific in mind to replace him if he goes but there are three or four players we like the look of.
“I won’t make a decision until Victor’s situation is resolved.
“I’d be delighted if Victor was here for the coming season, but I’ve reservations about that. It’s too big a deal not to go through.”

VICTOR WANYAMA’S £12.5million move to Southampton is back ON.
Neil Lennon revealed last night the Kenyan midfielder is holding fresh contract talks with the Premiership club. Saints tabled their whopping offer to the Parkhead club last month — which was accepted — only for the player and his agent to snub their deal.
Cardiff then entered the race before pulling out last week.
Lennon revealed: “We gather Southampton have reignited their interest.
“If nothing materialises he will play some of the next game on Tuesday.
“His fitness levels won’t be a major worry for me it’s just getting his football up to speed.”
