It's not that Stephens isn't ready, it's he has just been thrown into it.Seems a bit of a risk. Given his lack of game time, how long would it be until he`s match fit ?
At 23, if Stephens isn`t ready for the first team, then when will he be?

I don't even know if he is any good but if he can play at CB then FFS get him in. We have reached that point

Maya is a samurai - he'd play if he only had one leg!I would still see Stephens and Maya as first choice (until VVD returns), but this avoids the possibility of Stephens and Gardos being the only option.
Austin Delgado passed a medical!Di Marzio tweeted it so it 99% does. I have heard nothing though.
He passed a medical last week so does!
A Milan medical is a bit different then a medical by us when we hardly had any money.Austin Delgado passed a medical!
No verified tick though. Which means he could be bullshitting.
Far more then a hang around if he can get back to his form of Juv.Shouldn't this be Saint Martín!?
Doesn't bother me either way, don't think he will do more than hang around with Stuart Taylor though.
Agree. I don`t see how we can rely on Gardos staying fit either, and I don`t see him getting much game time to prove it.A risk we probably should take.
Totally agree Beefy. He's a leader with a wealth of experience.Far more then a hang around if he can get back to his form of Juv.

He hasn't played a match since about 1992 though has he? So we won't see him until after the cup final, then VVD will almost be back. I basically see Bertrand as our 4th choice CB now. Actually, maybe he'll turn out good and we'll sign him for another year.
Could be seen as a Fonte replacement for now, and if he can get up to speed quickly and become an asset, it could mean not having to rush VVD back, causing another injury?Exactly. Even if he were to sign this week, I don't think anyone would be expecting him to feature straight away vs Sunderland. So realistically, that only leaves Watford away this side of our trip to Spurs on March 19th. Which itself is then followed by a fortnight off, due to the international break. If Virgil isn't back for Spurs, then hopefully he'll be back after that international break.
So yeah, there's every chance that he won't actually kick a ball for us, like Taylor. Not that I'm saying I don't want him, mind.
