Speaking of comms with club etc - back in the early 90s I lived in Sweden and saw quite a few AIK Stockholm games. It was just at the advent of email being widely used and there was a young lad, I *think* called Mamadou Diallo or something, who played for Lillestrom in a friendly against them. I thought he looked a cracker of a player so emailed the club to recommend they take a look at him. I got an email back (from the chief scout at the time - name escapes me) saying that they're recently looked at Norway but hadn't found anything there they thought was good enough at that time, but they'd have a look at Diallo again on the back of my recommendation. I was pretty surprised by that! Obviously they didn't sign the kid, but even so, take that FM fans! EDIT - just checked and yes is was Mamadou Diallo. Glad my memory hasn't completely faded!
