Yes but as Beefy pointed out a day or so ago, one game doesn't make a player.the bloke who got sent off against England U21s whilst losing 3-0?
Promising squad addition. At this stage wouldn't say he is ahead of Stephens.Yes but as Beefy pointed out a day or so ago, one game doesn't make a player.
fair enough! I thought Mane was crap!Yes but as Beefy pointed out a day or so ago, one game doesn't make a player.
One for the future.Good enough to be Fonte's replacement, or a back-up CB/one for future option?
I could see him replace GardosI'm not sure what to think about this one. He definitely had a bad game against the England U21's. Is he just for the academy because, and I know it was only one game, he looked like first team in the PL would be too much for him at the moment?

I could see that. Jan replaces Gardos, then you actually have a u21 yr old playing in the youth. Instead of some injury prone guy.So if VVD goes we will probably still sign another 2 CBs?

Underwelmed to put it politely having just seen McGuire move to a competitor
If this is the case then this shows the inflation of prices. Spending £7m on a player to develop in the u21s, that is how much we paid for Jay Rod not too long ago.
Personally I am not too sure, think we will sell VVD, sign 1 more CB and have them and Yoshida as the starters with Stephens and this guy as backups.
Just over £5m isn't really that much. If he doesn't make it, they don't get the extra £1.5m.I guess that largely why I asked the question. The price does seem a little on the high side, just to put someone in the U23 team for a couple of years. We're not Chelsea.
