I'm not sure what to think about this one. He definitely had a bad game against the England U21's. Is he just for the academy because, and I know it was only one game, he looked like first team in the PL would be too much for him at the moment?
Heh, if anyone wants to see price inflation in action, a kid who had one good season in the Polish league now costs £7m. Not saying this is a bad deal, but ain't nothing cheap anymore.
I could see that. Jan replaces Gardos, then you actually have a u21 yr old playing in the youth. Instead of some injury prone guy.
Doubt it tbh. This one defo seems like a one for future rather than straight in first team. So imagine Maya will be first choice next year along with likely a new signing and then this lad and Stephens as 3rd/4th choice.
Maybe it's a good sign. Club ultra confident VVD staying for now and with yoshi and stepho, fourth choice and watch him develop.
If this is the case then this shows the inflation of prices. Spending £7m on a player to develop in the u21s, that is how much we paid for Jay Rod not too long ago. Personally I am not too sure, think we will sell VVD, sign 1 more CB and have them and Yoshida as the starters with Stephens and this guy as backups.
Based on what may I ask? I'd wager none of us had ever heard of him until recently and we can't judge him on one game in an international tournament. As my above post I'd say he's being brought in as back up / one for future so let's give the lad a chance before we write him off eh?
I guess that largely why I asked the question. The price does seem a little on the high side, just to put someone in the U23 team for a couple of years. We're not Chelsea.
