I’m looking forward to seeing the lad play, and what he can bring for us. Simple as that for me really.
If you want to conclude a deal quickly, then you can always pay over the odds, but there is so much that goes on behind the scenes, it’s all just speculation. I am sure that the deal is done as soon as it can be. What makes you think that we delayed things? Can't see this as anything but a good thing, He sounds to me like the type of player we need. My main issue is why this deal wasn't done 2-3 weeks ago, we seem to have paid over the odd's for him so delaying the transfer till the end of the window to maybe save a few quid seems like very poor judgement to me.

Heh, a lot of the complaints about Pelle proved out, though. He was never the target man who'd hold up the ball and bring wingers into play that people assumed he'd be owing to his size. There aren't a lot of those left, though, even in the 6'3"-and-above category, even if that's what we need (and I'm still unconvinced there).
I'm only speculating, we seem to do the majority of our deals later in the window which has been fine in previous years because we have been in a healthy postion. Its been common knowledge for a while that this guy has been our main target so i am guessing as a club we have had him identified since Austin's injury. I believe we have left the deal till late to save a few quid which looks like to me has back fired a bit cause £19m still seems to be expensive. I admit that 9 times out 10 i am completely wrong but its just how it looks to me.
So you're speculating that we delayed to reduce the price but that actually increased the price. This is based on no evidence and you claim to be wrong 9 times out of 10.
Hmmm ... I think this may be one of the 9![]()
I think buying a player is probably like buying a house and being in a chain. Nobody can move until everyone else has their ducks in a row. All I ask, is to give the board the benefit of the doubt. The implication that they are deliberately reckless, incompetent or lazy when it comes to transfer dealings is wide of the mark, IMO.
And perhaps Guido wasn't our first choice, so we came in harder after it was clear he had moved to first choice by default. Or he had other choices and then suddenly didn't. Or his wife didn't want to leave France. The reasons can be endless and don't just include trying to save pennies.

What kind of fan are you....the official line is that all signings have to be crap so we can get relegated and Mauricio and Les get sacked. Apparently this is the only way forward.Yes.
Basically, as soon as we sign someone, I develop a naive hope that we are the fit for them and they are going to be ****ing brilliant for us.
