Funny. Noticing new member EpicSaint SO16 [same postcode as mine], I looked up the area of SO16 and it's quite extensive. I also noticed that the Southampton Area SO postcode extends far north and west of Hampshire: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SO_postcode_area
Note that the PO Portsmouth postcode appears to extend to the whole of the Isle of Wight.
