Simon peach is quite well connected, for the first time I'm really doubting this one. I agree with doing deals in private but since everything on this is being dragged through the media in Italy it would be nice for someone to make a comment saints end just to give us some indication if it really is a non-goer!

You don't know how much money we have, so how can you say it'll free money up?. Just because we are taking time to conclude the Ramirez deal, does not stop us bidding and talking to other players.
A lot of people on twitter (I know) suggesting Saints have signed/agreed a deal with Penarol for the 30% of Ramirez, and that if another team come in for him, there is no way for them to get that 30% off us... Could be a shrude move from NC if actually true.
I don't know how much we've got, but not pigeon-holing 15 mill for Ramirez must make us better able to increase the offer for someone else.
I don't see it. The alarming "we will never sell!" quotes from Guaraldi are always followed by "unless we get a small concession". It will happen.
Think they are confused by the fact that Penarol had agreed a price if the deal went through.
This sounds like something the premier league would probably take a pretty dim view of, considering multiple-party ownership is not allowed by them.
I don't know how we can guarentee that we will pay, other than saying that we will pay. What other guarantees does this Italian tit want.
Simon Peach has confirmed the deal is at a standstill. Also that it is not dead but they are digging their heels in, and want 15m euro net. Can see this dragging out to the deadline.
But you still don't know how much cash we are willing to spend, we could be willing to spend more then we have bid for the other players. So us taking so long over the Ramirez deal wouldn't matter.

Don't doubt it, but I also doubt that he would bother as it would open a whole can of worms that could end up being reported to EUFA and the FA.
Think we're losing sight of the fact that, whilst a great addition to our squad, Ramirez is not essential to Saints survival.
If it's going to happen, then it's going to be a last minute thing. Bologna are playing hard ball, and we'll have to see if they're actually stupid enough to keep a player against his will. If they're not, then they'll likely have to accept Cortese's offer, but they'll hold out until deadline day. It's all mind games. I think it's best for everyone's sanity if we just stop thinking about it for a few days.
