Remember that being left-handed or left-handedness also means evil or evil-handed. Sinistri [eg, in italian] or Sinister. Hope that helps.

So it is mafia! If they are using Lefthanded Roberto to intimidate Ramirez into staying, we need to get the Theydon Boys over there. Sort it aht!

Before the invention of toilet paper the left hand was what you used to wipe your backside (using an old piece of wet sponge possibly on a stick or with the aid of a stick!!!) so it was considered to be unhealthy. You ate with your right hand and did the necessaries with the left.

Twitter has very little on this now, just Liverpool fans re-tweeting the following;

Transfer Round-Up‏@_Transfer_News
Gaston Ramirez's move to Southampton will be cut short as Liverpool have made an improved offer. #LFC

Nothing new.

The translation is not quite as crazy on this one. We won't need Fran to get the deciphering machine out to find out what it says!

"One could say, for Gaston Ramirez to Southampton now or never. If we are not an ultimatum, we miss very little. The President Guaraldi is backtracking, said that Italy can not afford to wait too long, in the weeks leading debut in the league. An absolute truth, or a way to flush out definitively Southampton ? One thing is certain: today is D-day, the truth about the final, we are in or out. The Bologna claims 15 million and wants to nail the first installment to be fair, maybe more than 6 million originally agreed. A few hours and everything will be clear."

clubs officials and player's agent will meet in England today according to Italian media. The player already agreed terms

Hussein Marhoon ‏@HusseinMarhoon as I said earlier, it's all up to Southampton. Italian media insists that the player has already agreed terms with the club

Hussein Marhoon ‏@HusseinMarhoon Bologna wants €15m cash immediately or a down-payment of €7-8m now. Southampton wants to pay the fee on 3 years (€12m)

There is a beautiful quality to some of these Italian translations. Some have a somewhat sinister air about them, like the coded messages used in war. Some appear to have some deep philosophy behind them, and overall there is a slight hint of the lilting quality of a haiku. I hope we sign more players from foreign clubs, just for the media reports.

So potentially in one weekend Man United and Liverpool could have stolen two of our transfer targets.

I hate big clubs!!

Alan Nixon on Ramirez:

Ok. I think this is actually going to happen. Word is u expect agreement and Ramirez on his way very shortly. Wow.

I thought this was unlikely at first. Now I am told it is expected ... Shocked.

I think I'm more nervous about this than the City game, for anyone who needs it the things comforting me are;

1)We've reserved the number 10 which is the number he wears and was reported going to wear for us, even though the numbers were announced AFTER the deal first "fell through"

2)All reports say we've agreed a deal with the player so it should go through quickly if we meet the clubs demands.

3)We're loaded.

4)He said we were the only club that made him feel special and that includes the offers from Juve, spurs and Liverpool.

5)DTLW's ridiculous quotes and translated sources are usually pretty optimistic.
