Hopefully will be welcome Fraser and Virgil tomorrow and enjoy playing at a lower level in the SPL for Celtic. Walk in the park for Legia

Club size doesn't really work like that though does it? Celtic have an enormous fan base (albeit somewhat passive because they're in a backwater league) and are probably in the top 15-20 clubs worldwide in terms of shirt sales. If they were in the Premier League I genuinely think they could crack the Irish-American market and possibly, maybe even probably, become the biggest club in Britain.

The stadium helps them massively too. Everyone goes on about their team being Championship, but with Celtic's resources and TV money...

Good point. But the ones I know and all the ones I meet specifically cite that European Cup win as the reason why they're such a big club.

I think they'd certainly be up there eventually. Not sure about biggest club in Britain (or what will be left of it...).

Have Virgil and Fraser been any better than the rest of the dross?

Virgil looked a bit frustrated with the lack of movement and quality in front of him. He did look the best player on the pitch for Celtic, but that isn't difficult. I think, if we sign him, and if we get Rojo as well, we will have a great back 3 in a 3-5-1-1 formation. Fraser looked bored, as he did in the first game!

Forster definitely looked like a guy who's head wasn't in the game. A bit disrespectful to Celtic perhaps, but I'll let him off.#hypieocracy

I'd be interested to know this as well. They were both ****e in the first leg (not that I'm using that as a negative, I still want them both etc). The whole "head not in the game thing" definitely applied to them then.

Saints fan at the game, on Twitter, says Forster was for sure saying goodbye to the fans with the way he left - and VVD was the best outfielder.

Yeah according to a lot of Celtic fans a lot of the players don't get on with the new manager.

Yup. I think attendances have dropped a bit but are still crazy for a nothing league they'll probably walk. The stadium culd be expanded to 75,000 too. Probably not worth it in the Scottish league, but if they had bigger teams and crazy Sky money to spend it might be. Apparently they're also looking into putting in rail seats for safe standing so their attendances could potentially be even higher than that.

If they're quoting that then fair enough.

I think they could be huge. Biggest club in Britain might be a stretch but not much of one. The potential is there for a truly giant club.

Forster - Shirt off, gloves off, all given to the fans. Walking around clapping and raising his hand to the Celtic fans...

That's a ****ing disgrace. That lad needs putting straight, doesn't he know you leave a club by moaning on twitter or get your agent to stir up **** in the media!?

Players these days...

Celtic have been badly effected financially by losing Rangers and an early exit from the champions league is not going to help any. Players on high wages like Samaras were let go. All players have been told that if the club receive a fair offer they can leave. Lennon didn't want to continue under those financial restrictions and of course they've taken the cheap option with the new coach

Hard to see them coming back from this. When all their players of any value leave - Forster, van Dijk, Commons - who's going to want to join them? A club in a non-league without any kind of European football to offer, too.
