Boruc should be much much higher... he commands his area his reflexes are immense he made some quality savs (including a pen save) and when he isnt being a moron he is solid. I also dont think there are any keepers that provide such an entertainment value! (See reading saints 2013) better than the likes of ruddy sczezny (world cup team) foster etc
 
A £10 million fee does not bother me in the slightest. The size of transfer fees paid these days + the amount of money we have received this summer + the fact that we could, potentially, get the best part of ten quality years from him, all add up to me being fine with that size of fee.

To my mind, he easily has the potential to be our best keeper since Niemi. I'll be very pleased once it's all wrapped up and announced.

I don't think £10m is steep for a quality keeper. It is a position that can make a very big difference. Look back at all our better Saints teams over the years; they all had great keepers. Look at teams like Man Utd, when Schmeichel arrived he made a huge difference and when he left they had a problem in that area for a few years.

It is no coincidence to me that in my time supporting Saints, our three best seasons had Shilton, Niemi and Boruc in goal.

It is probably the most specialist of positions and worth paying to (hopefully) get right.
 
I won't be at all surprised if he isn't as good as Boruc.

We'll just have to wait and see.
 
Well, regardless, it'd be nice to welcome him to St. Mary's for tonight's game - which appears to be the plan.

When was the last time we did something like that? If memory serves me correctly, it was for Papa Waigo.

As long as we don't get him to sign the contract, on a tiny little table, in front of the fans....then that's ok.
 
It could be a proper wrestling style contract signing... Forster comes out and signs the contract and then, while he's waving to the crowd, Boruc attacks him from behind with a steel chair and slams him through the table.

We could do it Real Madrid style and then take note of his distribution accuracy as he boots 100 balls into the crowd.
