Yeah, my sense is that he's largely just a makeweight, which is fine. There's potentially some -- limited, but some -- utility in having him as depth. So long as that's all he is.
As long as we sign another winger. Isgrove vs him would be terrifying.

In my estimation we need two wingers, and one of them has to be a hell of a lot better than Redmond. If we're going to play a 4-3-3 with one true DM and two CMs, we're going to need some major creativity from the wings...Tadic likely provides some, but we can't have the other position occupied by guys with limited end product/marginalia.

Same for me. If we get another starting winger, then it's fine. I do just think that him and Taider are obviously being used as a makeweight, rather then Inter having to pay any loan fee for Osvaldo.

Tbh...we are struggling to sign players...a swap may be more use to us than even more money. They take over Dani's wages and we pay two of their players. I have enough confidence in Saints that these players are the correct side of useless...things don't always work out as you know (Osvaldo for example), but Koeman/Les must have a reasonable hope they can contribute.

I don't mind Taider seems a lot of Inter fans rate him.

Not sure who we've struggled to sign. De Vrij went to Italy and Hernandez understandably wants European footballer. Outside of those, not a lot seems to have not happened.

Remember last summer, it took ages to finalise deals as we seem to forget that Ron has only been here a month.

Poor guy. Desperate to get here and we don't want him. The ones who want to leave we vilify and the ones who want to come we laugh at.

Seems like a nice guy. Fast. What more can you wNt? :s

The ones that don't want him have their managing careers fulfilled on football manager. **** them I say. Give the guy a chance.

Nobody is refusing to give him a chance because he might be alright, low expectations doesn't mean anyone will boo him onto the field. Though your stance of "anyone saying anything negative is an idiot and disregard it" is frustratingly typical of this place lately

We've seemingly been rather intransigent about meeting valuations, though. We've been in on a number of players, but have thus far been able to get them over the line (to use Pardew's favourite phrase which was, unnervingly, borrowed by Les recently), and in the cases of Ings/Forster it appears to be related to what we're willing to offer.

This. Sometimes changing clubs can benefit a player and he'll be a better player.

He hasn't wanted for changes in club, though...we'll be the seventh team he has played for since 2010.

It's fine to say you've got doubts over a player, it's just the people (and I'm not including you) who categorically state he's ****e that annoy me.

Not all about FM, I have actually watched him play and he looked bad. I may say I don't want him, but if he joins I won't boo him etc and I will give him a chance. That doesn't stop me not liking the loan signing.

Schelotto has one Italy cap. He did well for Cesena and Atalanta. He did quite well for Parma last year. It isn't the most terrifying profile.

The fact here is that these aren't players we'd be targeting. It's simply a case of us wanting to get Dani out and this is the only offer we can get. We'll barely see anything of Schelotto, and probably not much of Taider either. Good to have the depth, but honestly we have youth players I'd pick before them.

Please ignore me, I strayed on here when rather pissed.
