I think this is more a case of just accepting a player offer from Inter in order to get Osvalso off our books. Rather than a player we actually went out of our way to sign.

I've not seen him much myself but all reviews are very negative. Not like Koeman has hunted him down, more likely he's been rammed into a deal.

Exactly! I don't understand why people don't get this. Taider alone wouldn't have been enough, so I assume Inter offered another player and we took them up on it. If he is a starting player, that's when anyone should worry.

Yeah, my sense is that he's largely just a makeweight, which is fine. There's potentially some -- limited, but some -- utility in having him as depth. So long as that's all he is.
