If the figures quoted are correct, it's a bargain:
â¬18 million = £15,350,000, and â¬3 million a year is roughly £50k a week. I thought we'd be paying a lot more than that for him.

I think it's important to consider the variation in financial strength between any EPL club and any Italian club. They really are in a poor economic situation as a nation (much worse than ours) and they don't have the same sort of Sky money as we get which essentially allows us to offer salaries on a different level to those pertinent to Italy. So it's highly likely that our offer would be a big increase on what he already earns.

If we were to sign him, do you guys think he will start ahead of Lambert. Not instantly of course, but over the course of the season.

Not sure Roma were ever looking to sell Lamela to be honest. I like how the Osvaldo price is coming down though, €13m in that article, that really would be a bargain
