PHIL Bardsley was the double winner at Sunderlandââ¬â¢s Player of the Year awards to complete a clean sweep of the end-of-season accolades.
Bardsley, who won the Supportersââ¬â¢ Association Player of the Year prize earlier this month, was crowned Player of the Year and Playersââ¬â¢ Player of the Year at the Stadium of Light last night.
It caps a remarkable campaign for the 25-year-old, who was close to leaving Wearside last summer.
Bardsley has established himself in a new position at left-back and started every Premier League game bar one since September.
Jordan Henderson was named Young Player of the Year ââ¬â pipping goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who had won the Supportersââ¬â¢ Association prize.
