More awards for bardo, not bad seeing as though he plays out of position.

PHIL Bardsley was the double winner at Sunderland’s Player of the Year awards to complete a clean sweep of the end-of-season accolades.

Bardsley, who won the Supporters’ Association Player of the Year prize earlier this month, was crowned Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year at the Stadium of Light last night.

It caps a remarkable campaign for the 25-year-old, who was close to leaving Wearside last summer.

Bardsley has established himself in a new position at left-back and started every Premier League game bar one since September.

Jordan Henderson was named Young Player of the Year – pipping goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, who had won the Supporters’ Association prize.

Craig Gordon’s stunning stop to deny Bolton’s Zat Knight was named save of the season, while Nedum Onuoha’s solo effort at Chelsea won goal of the season. The Chelsea game was also named performance of the season.

Congrats to Bardo! Well deserved, also agree with the rest of the winners. I wonder where Bardo will play next season? We're crying out for a goal scorer!

He has already scored a couple so it is not a bad idea

Bardsley won two but could've been in the running for four. Any of his thunderbolt goals could've made goal of the season and how about his headed save against Bolton for save of the season. Maybe if he'd lied about his age he could've got Young Player of the Year as well!!

One of the few players I would take from your team:

    Bardsley
    Malbranque
    Gyan

Good players! That young Colback looks a tidy prospect aswell <ok>

Bardsley yes, Malbranque no. Gyan would walk into our team right now, but I'm hopeful we sign someone better than him in the summer and not Carlton Cole.

Congrats to Bardo. That goal against West Brom will live in the memory with all of his blood and guts performances.

Fully deserved. He's had an outstanding season and I hope he keeps the left back position, because he's made it his own IMO.

Would you be happy to see Bardsley sold?
