Hi Southampton fans,

Good work on your start to the season!

Why I'm here... Need to ditch Mata from my FPL team (for obvious reasons)

I'm feeling punty, and am tempted to take a chance on Mane.

I guess my "mane" questions are:

1) How did he look against Arsenal? I heard he won the penalty?
2) Is he likely to start this weekend? Who will he replace in the lineup? If he does start, I guess he won't last the full 90?
3) Will he get me some much-needed FPL points? Are you excited by his prospects for assists/goals/winning penalties?

Thanks in advance <cheers>

Think he'll start but be taken off after 60 minutes. He looks good, but think you're better off with Tadic who takes penalties, free-kicks and corners (especially the latter two now JWP is injured).

Tadic is our cheap Lallana replacement who happens to turn out to be better than the original. ;)

He may not have quite as skilful feet, in terms of dribbling, but by goodness does he have vision and passing ability. What a find..!

Mane did look very good against arsenal, though. Quick, skilful and he certainly has a shot on him. Went down a little easily at times, but was a handful for the arsenal defence. Tadic is the safe bet, but if you are feeling punty, mane might be a risk worth taking. I have a good feeling about him (though that is a bit ominous!)

Schneiderlin has to be an option at the moment - and a cheap one.
Congrats on your start to the season too - Ulloa was an inspired signing!

That's another one I was looking at... History would suggest that a steady stream of goals isn't likely, though!?

Thanks <ok> A few question marks were raised about his price, rumoured to be £8m... But when you see McCormack go to Fulham for £11m in the CHAMPIONSHIP, you realise how buggered the world of football really is <yikes>

We signed Shane Long for £12m.. So £8m is a bargain for a PL goalscorer in today's market.

What do you lot think of Dean Hammond? Good to see him regularly starting in the PL.

Oh yes, I forgot about that. Long had actually played in the PL before though, unlike McCormack...

To be honest, I've been surprised by him this season. I didn't really expect him to be starting, but he's proved us wrong, and has had a cracking start to the season... Hope he keeps it up!

I think I'd be speaking for practically every Saints Not606 poster when I say that we're all proud and well chuffed that Deano has made it to the Premier League and established himself. It was a disappointment for him and us that he couldn't be fitted in at Southampton, once we were promoted. There were simply too many players ahead of him, in Nigel Adkins mind, at the time. He's part of a very special group indeed of Saints players who will never be forgotten.

Thanks for your help on here guys.

I went for Tadic, and now I have Clyne, Tadic, and Pelle all in my FPL team <yikes>

So if you lose to QPR, you know who to blame...

<sorry>

You really should have Schneiderlin as well. And Wanyama. Forster wouldn't be a bad idea. Or Bertrand/Targett. Fonte is a must and you could choose anyone from Alderweireld, Gardos and Yoshida. You might as well have Davis too, and who could forget Jack Cork..? Well I nearly did.

Other than those few perhaps Saints aren't your best bet for FPL players.

You can only have 3 max per club, otherwise I would have been all over it <laugh>
