Wenger's on record as saying that if he were to manage at international level it would have to be France. As I said before, I don't see the manager as being the problem, it's the players.

Arsene Wenger? I've always thought he'd do well

Not English obviously but knows the english game like anything, Brings through young talent, and is probably ready to flee the sinking ship that is arsenal.

Beefy, if Arsenal is a sinking ship, I'd like time to climb back aboard from my lifeboat. The responsible management strategies that you are so in favour of at Carrow Road are precisely those on which Arsenal have been run for decades. They are the most stable, least exposed club in the Premier League. Ask supporters of clubs like Leeds, Forest, etc. whether they would swap their current status for a top six finish in the PL and no trophies for six years? Wengers not the problem, it's the minority of success-at-all-costs-measured-in-trophies fans who are the problem. Added to which, I think Wenger could have expected more loyalty from certain key players at certain times, not Fabregas who did show loyalty for several years, but Flamini, Adebayor, Toure, Nasri and Clichy in particular, and more from Arshavin to whom he has been incredibly supportive and loyal.

Arsenal isn't sinking like say Portsmouth or Ipswich are sinking, but they are losing ground. It's basically Man City that have messed everything up. You have to spend a lot of money to stay in the top 4 and Arsenal aren't willing to do that. Thats not neccesarily a bad thing, they'll be set-up legitimately whenever new financial rules come in, but for now they'll lose out to the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and Man City because they're willing to pay the wages and fork out, and in some cases gamble, for a fee on a player (Scott Parker)

So a an annoying decline for the arsenal fans, but there are far worse things to happen to a club. No chance of them doing a Leeds or an "us"
