Not long in from watching local team capitulate a 1-1 draw at 75 minutes, to losing 5-1 :emoticon-0121-angry so missed most of the afternoons play - anyone watching the golf say how it went? Sounds as if each match was fairly comfortable for the victors?

Apart from Spieth, the Americans have been pretty hopeless, and apart from Molinari/Fleetwood the Europeans have been a bit up and down. Most of the Americans just don't seem to know how to play the course. The singles match-ups will be interesting, though. I'll be betting against Noren, Reed, Woods, Johnson, DeChambeau and Mickelson, which, if correct, would give us 4 more points. We'd only need a half from the other 6 matches then!

If the Yanks can make a decent start the pressure will be on the European team, it's by no means a walkover but given the draw I'd back Rose, Fleetwood, Molinari and Hatton as strong favourites in their games and I'm sure we'll find a half point somewhere in the other 8 games. When you look at how well the Yanks played in the first session you wonder how they've let it slip so much...

Big day coming up, can't wait!

There are only three match ups I feel I can call pretty certain.
Justin Thomas to beat Rory McIlroy
Francesco Molinari to beat Phil Mickelson
Jordan Spieth to beat Thorbjørn Olesen

Not convinced Justin Rose will win, though he has a fair chance. Tommy Fleetwood on Ryder form should have just enough.
Shame Molinari has been paired with Mickelson as I think he could beat anyone at the moment, and probably every European would win against Mickelson at the moment.
And I'm hoping my personal favourite Ian Poulter comes up with some Ryder magic only he can.

All I know is that this will be very exciting!

I'll go with..

Thomas
Casey
Rose
Rahm
Fleetwood
Spieth
Fowler
Molinari
Hatton

...and halves in the others.

I’d really like Rahm to get a point today. I like him both as a player and a personality, hope we will be seeing him in many more Ryder Cups.

Rahm against Woods will be fascinating.

Brilliant start by Thomas to go one up on the first against McIlroy.
