Apparently there are insurances for career ending scenarios....for both the player and the club
If it is indeed career ending that would be tragic, but I'd be surprised it hadn't been announced if it were so certain that we'd already been paid compensation.

Im more of a team fan than of what goes on behind the scenes.
wont the FA pay insurance out on the player?

Career ending injury insurance is usually held by the player himself, I'm not aware of any club ever getting a transfer fee back due an injury, so it's probably rubbish.

All the news released about Mason's injury has been positive so far, hopefully that remains the case.

Didn't West Ham get compensation when Dean Ashton announced his retirement due to injury?

Dean Ashton got career ending compensation from the FA, as his injury occurred while training for England.

West Ham were going to bring their own action against the FA, but I'm not sure if they ever did (I can find no record of a compensation settlement), though this wasn't to cover a transfer fee anyway.

Not sure if this has been covered but hearing last night that Mason wont play again due to a bleed on the brain......but Ehaw will get transfer fee compensation. Another £12-£13M to his back pocket. Maybe why he opened his wallet a little during the transfer window.
I think thats a pretty ****ing piss poor post.
