Ashley is still setting things up for a sale, so he's not going to spend much that would be concerning if he did
Of course, I do think that the club will stay up, Hendrick is a good player and it's a nice addition. But takeover is just ****ing so needed. I am of the mind anyone but Ashley, we need someone who WANTS to make it work. With Everton signing some top, top players they're now out of sight of us now. We're being left in the dust.
Eventually some idiot with cash is gonna come along and take it, it will happen, but we all have to hope it's someone with passion and ambition. Like I've said, if all goes wrong, merge the club as a part of the Frasers Group, give it a real ****ing budget as the other acquisitions have, give it a real board and for **** sake get some investors interested in the club. Being Ashley's personal side project is a disaster situation all alternatives are better.
This is the concern isn't it... You need **** loads of money first and foremost and then ambition doesn't really matter as much.... If you have ambition and no money then that's a bigger problem. Im so sick of Ashley being a skinflint with no ambition, but I don't want anyone with less money even if they have more ambition... Long term that would be a disaster imo
True, but I don't think someone with less money than Ashley can feasibly purchase a Prem club in 2020. You need atleast £1B for that kinda outlay, or a group.
That's what the prem checks were supposed to be.... A financial check... I don't think anything matters its just do they want it to happen.... They don't care about the long term financial stability of the clubs imo.. They're more interested in the premier league.. Just my bitter take on it
You're allowed to be bitter mate, it pissed everyone off, me included. I was firmly in it's 100% happening category so I was gutted. I do think it will rumble in their minds for atleast another year, hopefully any issues can be ironed out and perhaps MAYBE another consortium can pull it together. Still - why the **** didn't the brothers just buy the club themselves if they had so many "big plans" involving the area. Seems a lot to give away for a poxy £350M.
They're only intersted in building things and know the area and Saudi wanted a football team, so the marriage made sense I guess... The brothers know the area , contacts the lot. There's still talk that works going on in the background ref a restructure and I'm convinced that will happen maybe next summer. If not one day something will change before it's too late hopefully... It might be already... I expect a very tough season... I think given everything it's got to be about staying up.... Surviving in hope of a better day.
Iooks like this one is all but done, however seems Fraser is holding out for a better move if it comes along
I'd be happy with it, but one player here and one player there won't resolve the biggest issue which is the sides inability to play
