Bearing in mind we've signed a player from a country that is currently at War
Since Brexit the paperwork, etc, has become more complicated.
I'm sure it has,but Ukraine aren't in the EU,so shouldn't make any difference. We seem to be signing players from French and Portuguese clubs without paperwork issues. I guess it's the ongoing war that's causing any delay. We may learn more at Tony's press conference later.
Not visa yet. Won't play tomorrow
It’s a shame but we’re not desperate, thankfully. Not visa yet. Won't play tomorrow
It’s Ukrainian FA where paperwork a bit stuck m8, all ok though according to relative who works there, we’ll that was Monday night at the Pil gig I was told that btw.Whilst there are sanctions against Russia there is increased scrutiny on business deals involving Ukraine as well, from a money laundering point of view. I'm guessing that is because it could be linked to Russian funding. Given the millions likely involved none of this will be straight forward, remember Speakman said it was a very involved and complex deal or something. That's how it is, probably for good reason, we'll get through the paperwork and all will be good. Totally chilled about how long this is taking, it is what it is

I ASSUME that the problem is not The FA, or even the Ukrainian equivalent.
There are many Ukrainian players here, so the track is likely to be well known.
My suspicions fall on The Civil Service, that part of it that deals with Visas.
It would be typical of Civil Service thinking to wave through many thousands of displaced souls from Ukraine, many without any expectation of employment, then get bogged down in red tape when one who has a guaranteed job along with a decent salary, and who would be likely to contribute may thousand each year to The Treasury, is involved.
Sir Humphrey Appleby GCMG KBE MVO would applaud.![]()
The delay may not be at our end mate.
If it's a visa then that would be the home office surelyVery true.
HOWEVER I can recall no evidence of previous tardiness from the Ukrainian end, though they would have grounds.
So I revert to my fallback position in cases of doubt and look at the past records of the likely parties.
The FA are a real possibility, I admit, but their records are spotless when compared to The Home Office.
Think WINDRUSH for an example of clerical incompetence.![]()
