i think you're mistaken if/when he gets his money back he'll be off but paying 100m+ for the club then paying 200m+ to ashley will put buyers off

I think we'll be stuck with the bastard until he cashed in on his resale player plan, then he might sell if he's made his money back plus the value of the club.

What plan is this? We've sold one player for money. One. That's not a plan, it's an event. If any north east club are a selling club it's Sunderland, as they cashed in on Bent and Henderson. Which is one more than us.

There is no point in him selling our est players because the value of a championship club compared to a top flight one is enormous. More likely he will make the team self sufficient entity that publicises sports direct. Selling a premier league club that pays for itself will prove quite easy.

However, it's worth questioning whether he's definitely just looking to sell with the amount of effort and money he's spent on plastering the stadium with SD branding.

What's wrong with that though? The plan shows we get the players before their peak years and sell them at the right time. Also it's not really a resale plan, as we have only sold one player for big money since it was announced and when Mike Ashley said it's a ridiculous amount of money to turn down for a player, I actually agree with him.

Well I'll be surprised if we don't sell the likes of Cabaye and Tiote sooner than you think. If we don't great .

It would have to be a ridiculous sum of money, which won't happen with the new rules coming in over the summer.

very true it's the 200m+ plus owed to him that might be the stumbling block hasn't he said in the past if he stays it's interest free but if he sells it's cash up front or interest is added for how ever long it takes

please let this be lies <wah>

Rangers are bracing for fresh bid for striker Nikica Jelavic in January.

The Daily Express says there is expected to be strong New Year interest in Jelavic. He has been linked with Newcastle United in recent days but his advisors are unaware of that interest. Sources close to Jelavic believe that if he isn’t sold in January then the club would look to try and get him to sign an extension.

That is an arrangement that could suit both parties as Jelavic has helped fire Croatia to Euro 2012 and if he plays and does well in the Ukraine and Poland then his value could rocket.

Rangers turned down a £6 million bid from Championship side Leicester City in August and also claimed they had another £8 million offer from another unnamed club.

can this be put on the thread directory took me ages to find it

Jelavic can get ****ed, remember that interview where he thought he could play for Man U and in the last sentence he took a random shot at us, saying "I wouldnt go to Newcastle United" or something. We werent even relevant to the article!

right pissed off <grr> i've asked 4 times for the rumour thread to be put in the thread directory as i can't be arsed to hunt for it but it still isn't there <wah>

so i'll just post them here and everywhere till the rumour thread is in the directory :)
(rant over)

todays links are

Kolo Toure?
Lazio defender Modibo Diakite
Pieters, Yanga-Mbiwa - again
Luuk de Jong - again
Hannover striker Mohammed Abdellaoue
Montpellier striker Olivier Giroud - again despite this - Montpellier chairman Louis Nicollin claims no sales will be sanctioned in January
Hampton and Richmond striker Dan Thompson - again despite the he's bang on for signing for portsmouth in the next few days crack -oh yeah the dippers interested as well <doh>

plus this

Magpies boss Alan Pardew is understood to be looking at left-backs as well as central defenders in the January transfer window.

Newcastle lost Steven Taylor and Fabricio Coloccini to injury during Saturday's 3-0 home defeat to Chelsea with the former now ruled out for the season.

But, of similar concern to Pardew, was the way in which right-sided left back Ryan Taylor was constantly caught out of position by pacey Chelsea forward Danny Sturridge.

The England Under-21 striker wasted seven chances to score before finally sealing the match in injury time, but Taylor's days at left-back now appeared to be numbered.

Newcastle are looking in both France and England for a replacement for Jose Enrique, who left the club so late in the summer transfer window that Pardew was unable to bring in a left footer.

does that mean pieters is a no go,after reading about his twat of a agent i'd probably say he wasn't an option now.
