If Naismith gets 20k per week, he physically receives that - his actual wage would be nearer 40k a week less NIC and 50% tax rate that the club SHOULD BE PAYING therefore average 10k each means actual salary nearer 20k coming out of the club. = 1.7m ish saving!!!!!!!

Has anyone considered the fact that Agents are on a percentage of the players wages and even though the players may be "happy" to take the hit, their agents are slightly more mercenary and will still be looking for their pound of flesh even if their client is taking a wage cut?

Not unknown at all. I think it is still more often an annual fee that amounts to the same thing. In a transaction like this they do. FIFA updated their regulations recently.
