He's talking about Gough and his young "lodger". I don't know if there is any truth in the rumour his name was "roger".

That apparently is where the expression "Roger the lodger" arose from <ok>

The 75% cut of an average 10k player salary with 28 first team squad is over 1m saving, as the club also pay the taxes. If Naismith gets 20k per week, he physically receives that - his actual wage would be nearer 40k a week less NIC and 50% tax rate that the club SHOULD BE PAYING therefore average 10k each means actual salary nearer 20k coming out of the club. = 1.7m ish saving!!!!!!!

McGregor has announced that he'll take a 75% wage cut.

The AWP (Association of Weegie Prostitutes) are considering launching an appeal.

Has anyone considered the fact that Agents are on a percentage of the players wages and even though the players may be "happy" to take the hit, their agents are slightly more mercenary and will still be looking for their pound of flesh even if their client is taking a wage cut?

I doubt the wages quoted are after tax or they truly do live in a different world to the rest of us.

Also heard a lawyer who dealt in employment law being interviewed on Radio Scotland. She was saying that the admins don't have as much power as you might think when it comes to negotiating wage cuts. Even if they make a player redundant the player may well have recourse to come back at them for the amount owed on the remainder of their contract.

Agents 'generally' don't operate on a cut of player salaries.

    You serious?

By unnoticed, do you mean ignored by the Rangers support and wider media?

But it is not unknown for such arrangements to exist.

    .

Could be wrong, but don't the players pay the agents out of their own money. So they might get a cut, but it's not coming from the club. Guess it would be between player and agent then if they players getting less?

Not unknown at all. I think it is still more often an annual fee that amounts to the same thing.

In a transaction like this they do. FIFA updated their regulations recently.
