So if we sell Brady for say £10m and land the Grimsby lad for 500k (Rotherham have bid 350k already)
what would we do with the surplus £9.5M?
    The mind Bogles... <sorry>

    You knows about Bogle ??

It's not that long ago that Andre Gray was playing for non-league Luton Town and look at him now .......... <yikes>

    Nope.

Smacks of a kind of Cody/Oli Johnson signing. Cheap, get-able without any bother, Fans would probably like his workrate and attitude, but ultimately, not the quality we need.

This can't be real, even from us! Surely.

Possibly not, but I think you'll find we've started 'scouring' the shelves
of Aldi this season, as opposed to Waitrose last year.

Morrison's 'Savers' or Teco 'Everyday Value' is our yardstick for the foreseeable future :emoticon-0106-cryin

Brentford wanting Canos (who he ?) back on loan. Probably would be a good move for him as I can't see him getting any game time at CR (unless we sell both Murphy's and Jarvis gets crocked again).

Like it or not as a club we need to look at players to develop, is bogle one? Maybe? Could be the next Vardy, Gray, Lambert or Holt. We need a balanced squad, not everyone can be top end near our salary cap. That said we also need to buy some that actually play and improve our team!

    Bah!

When we are budgeting a loss of £12m it is difficult to see how we can splash the cash. I suspect that had we not had a better run of late and remained in sight of the top 6 it would have been sell Klose and Brady and buy very little to cut the potential loss but recent results may have changed the plan.

Anyone with half a footballing brain would have understood that Hoolahan was over used. Part of a managers role is understanding his players abilities and limitations. Just one of many reasons why AN is not up to the role at this level.

Didn't we pay £500k for Grant Holt from League 2? At 24, this from Wiki sounds reasonable: "Bogle primarily plays as a central striker, he can dribble, hold the ball up, scores headers, ambidextrous he has the ability to score with his right foot, as well as his left foot." If true, it seems a low risk strategy which could allow Lafferty to finally move on and we also have Morris as another option.

Sorry didn't know where to post this:
just read an article from Gary Field writting in MFW on Newsnow Norwich City outlining his take on the accounts. I found it difficult to follow but I bet there are many out there who could explain the essence of the article.

Ha Rick, I think you've brought the pedant in me, as I'm pretty sure we paid a miserly £400K for GH!!!! <laugh>
Signed by Bryan Gunn and the fans who opted to forego their refund for us dropping down to leaguue1 helped finance the deal.
    Edit - From Wiki - Norwich City[edit]
On 24 July 2009, Holt transferred to Norwich City after Shrewsbury Town accepted an undisclosed bid, thought to be £400,000.[17] Holt signed a three-year contract with the option of a further year at Carrow Road.

Yes, buddy, I saw it earlier and put it on the 'general football' thread, #4602.
I'm no accountant either, as I explained on there and am hoping
somebody on the forum can spell it out in layman's terms <ok>

Another name emerging is Sam Winnall of Barnsley. According to the Sun, we have dropped any interest in Scott Horgan and switched to this lad.

West Ham, Watford and Newcastle all looking at Horgan now.

Sam Winnall is a decent striker. Hard worker, decent finisher. Not a terrible link at all. Decent realistic shout, could be worth a punt.

I agree that Winnall could be a decent shout, with 11 goals in 22 appearances this season. I suspect Barnsley would want mega bucks for him though, given that they are on the fringe of possible play-off places.

Maybe we should alert them to Robbie Brady's potential? :emoticon-0112-wonde
