If this was true the club would be saying "new signing revealed today!" to get more fans in. Plus this one has been going round for ages, which means it definitely isn't true.
 
Just read his stats on Wiki & doesn't sound good.
Sunderland
Kilgallon signed for Sunderland on 21 January 2010 on a three and a half year contract. He made his debut in a 2–0 loss to Everton on 27 January 2010.[8] Kilgallon struggled to make an impact during Sunderland's dismal winless run until a Man of the Match performance against Hull City on 24 April, his first start in months.[9]

On 20 August, he joined Middlesbrough on loan for the rest of the 2010–11 season.[10]

After failing to make an impression at Middlesbrough, Kilgallon joined Doncaster Rovers on loan for the rest of the season on 12 January 2011.[11]

Is this the guy you are on about ? Can't find him on the Sunderland website either ? Has he been released from them ?
 
I wouldn't have a problem with Kilgallon provided we get him playing back at the very high standard he had at Leeds.
 
Kilgallon is leftsided and left footed and has not had a chance to play regularly, so may be a good cheap pick up as his days are numbered at Sunderland, probably like Anton Ferdinand - I would take either.
 
Adkins said on Friday that we had pretty much another player, but didn't want to announce it until he had his name autographed on the dotted line.

Reckon it'll happen tomorrow? And are we sure it's Jamel?
