I watched Steve Bruce & Niall Quinn on goals on sunday & was left feeling warm & comfortable about our club's future, we have a manager who knows what he is doing & his honesty shines through, he knows just what great job he has & what he may acheive at the club, thats if he does'nt end up managing England next year, then we have Niall, what else can be said about him, how many club chairmen go out & about to meet the fans, what he he has done for the club PR alone is unbeleivable, at last there is a football club that thinks at least as much of the fans as it does the football, thank you Steve & Niall for your performance on tv today

Even the Mags would admit that were arnt too far away from eachother on the pitch but off the pitch were are streets ahead in terms of club image etc.

You could listen to Quinny all day, great when he speaks up about why eh loves Sunderland so much. I expect 45,000 plus against Liverpool

You probably will get 45k v Liverpool. I begrudgingly admit you have good support.

In terms of stature, we are way ahead of you. Always have been, always will be.
 
Yeah mate I'm not on about stature just the way the club portraits itself and image to the footballing world.

Its not your fault but Ashley does very little to improve the image of Newcastle United or wether he has any interest in taking the club further.
 
Thanks lads for putting this on as a post. Living down under, don't get to see things like that; makes me proud to be a Mackem. Love SNQ and Bruce, wish I was over more often to pump up the number for him. mind you, when I am back and there is a match, I pay my money and give the lads the support. In the meantime, have to rely on you guys for my fix of news. Keep up the good work, and have a pint on me;)

I would begrudgingly have to agree with that, the fat man in charge at our club has ruined our general club image for the time being, its a nice set up you guys seem to have, I actually enjoyed watching that on goals on sunday, would be nice if we had something similar to that one day.

However I think its a real testament to our players, fans and our team spirit that we are still managing to have been promoted and be pushing up the table this season, because with Ashley in charge we could probably be languishing in the championship if things were different.

I think with everything that has gone on up your way with Houghton, Carroll etc your team has showed great character to still be 9th in the league and with lets face it a poor strikeforce you still have been getting the results. Not sure how much of it is down to Pardew as I have heard he owes Lambias 2 million in gambling debts and is only working there for 5k a week to pay off his debts but you cant fault your players one bit as their team spirit is second to none. Well done.

Brucie's tackle on Quinny was quality by the way! haha

You may be shocked to know I partly agree with you. Without doubt the image of our management team in Short,Quinn and Bruce is first class and is something we are very proud of. The percieved stature of Newcastle is greater than Sunderland and I dont think anyone should be surprised at that. Many years of top flight success, good quality players and high profile managers compared to miss management and yo-yo image and fact by Sunderland. The reason we are so happy at Sunderland is because at last, after so many years of hoping, things are changing and we are getting the right image, starting to attract the better players and enjoying relative success.

You were certainly way ahead of us, no longer are and certainly you are way out with your always will be.
 
IBWT and Syd ~ Fair enough, I hear what you're saying. I personally think you are punching a bit above your weight, but on and off the pitch you are making strides. We aren't going to agree on much, but that's rivalry and long may our healthy rivalry continue. I miss the craic between Mags and mackems. There doesn't seem to be much on not606 like there was on 606.

Us punching above our weight? On and off the pitch we are making great advances.
Whilst your lot are just about to implode, even if you have a good season this time your foundations are shot man.

I think we started with a load of idiots on each side seeing how many ways they could say **** off, it seems to have put the good banter posters off. Not agreeing goes with being on R&W or B&W sides so lets hope it returns.
