I kept making it clear that I'm just an ordinary Sunderland supporter who, by sheer chance, was privy to some genuine inside info. Once I'd posted it I was sent various info, from various genuine people, which I also posted. In addition I posted my own guesses and opinions as to what would happen next and when. True to form the usual suspects chose to continually quote my guesses as facts, etc.

They knew exactly what they were doing and the Mods allowed it.

Shame, it used to be a good forum for Sunderland supporters.
That is very true as I recall it. It became apparent to me quite quickly what was happening. The persons responsible for turning what was the best thread in quite sometime into what it ended up being should be ashamed, as should those in positions of responsibility for sitting idly by and allowing it all to unravel. It would seem short term gains for increased traffic were more important than the long term good of the board as a whole. Since, I would guess, midsummer last year the board has been declining at an alarming rate, to the point where Roger felt it necessary to make a plea for common sense to prevail. Whilst this appeared to have some effect, it proved to be short lived. The usual suspects have reverted to type. As I stated earlier it’s a damn shame that what was arguably the best football forum in the country has become what it is now.

Spot on this. The board is slowly deteriorating into a racist, xenophobic mess with cliques immediately pouncing on anything whatsoever.

13 years I spent on there and the last two years were terrible. My account has been deleted and I will not return.

It’s awful to read that. To think that a handful of people can drive out posters such as yourself is deplorable. Unless firm action is taken I can see a time in the not too distant future when the SMB and PF in particular becomes an echo chamber unless firm action is taken to prevent it.

I did report what was happening but nothing was done. The same posters who hounded hank, did the same to myself.

I don’t need the hassle but sadly it appears some have followed onto here. To be seen how things go.

I will add the vast majority of posters we’re fine and no problem but wading through 50 to 60 alerts per day of abuse is not my idea of fun

Nor mine. And I don’t blame you for leaving after all that. Hopefully the moderators on here are more robust if as you say some of that type of poster is now over here.

How dare you insinuate that we might like 'them' :steam:

Have you not noticed anything that we've done to look after this board

We do our best :emoticon-0105-wink:

It was not my intention to suggest that you were anything like them. If that is how my post came across I unreservedly apologise. I’ve not been on this message board long enough to gauge how you deal with inappropriate, personally insulting, or blatant WUM posts. Only what I’ve occasionally come across, which is to say that you do not gladly suffer fools, which is very good news. My experience on here so far has me pleasantly surprised and for that you are to be congratulated. It will go a long way to prevent this forum ending up the way the other one is heading at a rate of knots.

Who was the poster on there that used to post early morning because he lived abroad somewhere. Very friendly bloke that got in with everyone. No particular reason for asking but I don’t remember reading his posts for ages.
My account over there was deleted at my request.
