There a karoo users forum where you might ask this question. Other than that, I've got nothing, bet others have though.
Call up KCOM and get them to send you one out, they should do it for free as long as you enter into a new contract, which will probably make no difference to you unless you plan on changing provider. If you get one through them the support they can provide you is much more than if you buy one elsewhere.
As you mentioned fibre I'd definitely recommend upgrading to it if it's available to you and you do any video streaming, it's a much better service than ADSL.
They currently provide a Technicolour TG589 dual band (2.4G and 5G) router as standard which is ok for both ADSL and Lightstream.
All the posts so far make sense but basically if you want a router which will work on KCOM's ADSL network, it's just any ADSL router you need. Worth getting one they support for the reasons mentioned.
One other thing I always point out is that it's hard to really tell if your router is going rather than something else. It is a very old model but still might not be that.

As PLT said the issues you're having could be due to other reasons, most notably the wireless channel your router is emitting its signal on. I'd suggest getting a new router from KCOM and then if you still have issues make sure to call into their technical support and follow their advice repeatedly until it's fixed. Most of the time when people are complaining that there is a problem with their connection it is actually something on the user end, which is not under the control of the ISP.
