Planet Earth... usually
Lots of speculation about his future at United after Moyes appears to be the next manager and Rooney apparently is unhappy at his lack of first team selection or being played out of position. Whether or not you feel we have any realistic chance to buy him, would you take him?

Me... I'd have him in a Spurs shirt in a heartbeat. Where could Rooney realistically go in the Prem? Would he go abroad? Doubt it personally. Should Levy try to broker a deal? If we have any serious ambitions, why not try to buy him.

Of course. he's class!

he's better than anything we've got or had for a long long time.

unfortunately, we'll never see him in a spurs shirt.

Definitely take him. Not only would it improve our team but it would be a massive statement of intent.

He'll want and expect bigger though. Didn't City court him once? Or was it vice-versa?
We must have the cash to buy him after last summer and the non-spending CL campaign. If we nick 4th then why not have a cheeky bid?
He'd cost, what, maybe £30-35m? But its a safe purchase imo unlike some £15-20m-ers

No chance of a swap for Bale as we need a left winger and you need a Striker then.

Even Bale won't be paid Rooney's level of wage so it's impossible. Great player though, obviously.

I'd have Rooney at Spurs in a heart beat.

Unfortunately, we don't have the funds to get him :(

We need someone to play up front, rather than someone who plays deeper than Sandro to get the ball when we face a team who pack the midfield. Also, he'll probably cry wold to get a better contract every summer despite no real interest from anyone, so I pass.

There's less than a handful of clubs that would even consider maintaining his current 250/wk wages, let alone increase them, thats if they want him anyway. Would he take a drop to broaden the list? who knows, but his agent is Stretford...not known for giveaways!

Other than that I see little point in engaging in a hypothetical move.

They can just talk to each other. Alternatively they could try Bartonese or Del Boy's version of French.
Mais oui, Notso. Mais oui.
