When I was a boy almost every village had a Co-op, which was always known as 'The Store.' Gradually they closed & Asian families took them over. My parents always referred to them as The Paki's. It's like the Chinese takeaways always got called The Chinky's. No racism or malice intended, but everyone used those terms.
They've all got their hatreds from the Bangladeshi independence war in the 70's. India, a Hindu country came to the aid of East Pakistan, now Bangladesh. India had there own reasons for doing so.
One that confuses me is the outrage about white people blacking themselves up. Obviously if you do it in a racist way and go to town on racial stereotypes and whatnot I see the problem there, but if a white person wants to pretend to be Obama say at Halloween and blacks their face up, how is it racist? Do we have to pretend that his skin isn't darker than that of a white persons? Are white people forbidden to dress up as anyone that's not white? Seems a bit strange to me. I wouldn't give a **** if someone black put white face paint on to portray a white person.
Wtf. Pissing me self watching that. Full-on blind routine to go with the appearance. Mad Greek feckers There’s another term - ‘identifying someone as a bit Greek’.
