Fail 1: 10mill + Mata for Rooney, implying we either value Rooney in the region of 40-50mill, or we value Mata in the region of 10 (ridiculous wind-up on both counts)
Fail 2: confirms the latter - 22mill outright cash, implying the daily fail believe we only value Mata at 12 mill, even though we signed him for 16mill and he's been our player of the year 2 seasons running.... Errrr....
Fail 3: united rejected those offers, implying united believe Mata is overpriced at 12mill!
Conclusion: Epic compounded fail from the mothership of all fails - the daily fail

The club are saying the stories started from the manu camp in Australia. It's highly unlikely they'd be so specific if they didn't have some proof.
I've just read in today's Times, that Jose is going to be a dog with a bone over this! He has no other transfer targets, and all Rooney has to do is put in a transfer request! Then it will simply be a debate over the price! Ba and Torres will be disposed of to offset the cost, AND the club are furious apparently about Mata and Luiz being reported as disposals, which will NOT happen!
