The speculation is that Chelsea may fork out £28m and offer him £200k a week on a 5 year contract! Personally , although its not my money, I'd rather do without him! I just couldn't rest easy with him getting a wage like that, which is so much more than established Chelsea legends!
 
Well we've just had a bid rejected for him, according to the BBC we've offered either Mata or Luiz in exchange. Luiz I understand as Jose won't want a defender like him but if it's Mata then the entire board AND Mourinho want lined up and stoned.

WTF Mata +£10m for Rooney? <laugh> Surely that is a typo and you must want £10m from Man U.
 
A few nervous days to wait until Mata and Luiz join with the squad and all will be well.
 
Mata was your outstanding player last season and Luiz looked extremely accomplished at centre-half in the Confederations Cup and has versatility on his side.
Why would you even consider letting either of them go, especially for a player that looks like he's unhappy at his current club?

I think the media might have their wires crossed on this one.

I dont believe there is any truth to this story at all.
Why would we give our best player to a main title rival?
Makes no sense at all. I seriously dont think Jose or Roman would be that stupid.

Apparently the Board are furious about the false story of offering Mata or Luiz plus cash for Rooney.

Good riddance nearly had a heart attack, the thought of losing Mata and 10 million quid for Rooney! <ok>
