Im sorry, but you are wrong. Taking a bumb hurts like hell. You let someone who is 6feet tall throw you to the mat, or let a 180-200lb man backhand you on the solar plexus and not be winded at the very least.

I would put the British an Irish Lions in room 101 (it'll need to be a big room). I'm feed up with Ian Robertson having the lead sports item on Radio's 4 & 5, which consists of him speculating on which of "our" bench warmers will play the reserves of some obscure ozzy club side. That or reporting on the sore toe of "our" 3rd choice hooker!

Okay ' tough ' was probably the wrong word to use Dan. It's not as aggressive as UFC or as intense as Rugby IMO. And it's tame in comparison to Tai Kickboxing (where the idea is to break your opponent's ribs to win!!). I used to like it between the age of 8 and 11, but when you realise that they decide who's going to win beforehand and a lot of the time there is no contact (fake punches, stamping on floor to make it sound real) it kind makes it harder to take it seriously. I just grew out of it really. Was it Vince Vaughn that was still doing it in his 50's???
Oh I agree about the Thai Kickboxing and UFC, they arent just tough, they are brutal. Whilst I agree the pre-determined winner does bug me, I think we will have to agree to disagree. Like I say, having taken bumps I know they do hurt, even when they are executed correctly.

Returning the motoring/motorcyclists theme....
Why do Road users, especially motor cyclists think its necessary to drive around in broad daylight with their headlights on? I find it very distracting, especially if they are behind you. I could not see a road user in daylight without lights on I should not be driving.
And as for those signs which tell drivers to beware of motor cyclists coming round a bend and possibly leaning over into your lane - er why should I be responsble for their bad driving? If they are going that fast and needing to lean over that far whilst coming round a bend then they are driving badly for the conditions. How can I see them anyway and what can I do if it's a bend and it usually means you can't see each other anyway.

Why are 'Fun Runners' allowed on the highways? My wife and I just did our weekly shopping - for which we have at least a 10 mile drive to the nearest town with a supermarket. The 100 mile stretch of coastline along the Moray Firth between Inverness and Fraserburgh only has the one road, and it is two lane all the way. Today, in the pouring rain I might add, a group of around 60 runners decided that it would be fun to run along a 5 mile stretch of that road four abreast, totally ignoring the growing queue of cars behind them.
The runner bringing up the rear of the group did offer some light relief though - a rather large lady who had somehow squeezed herself into a bright pink lycra running suit, apparently modelled on the colour of her face.......

- I would add the whole "charity business" that has strung up in the UK. There now seem to be 1,000's of charities that are funding campaign directors, CEO's and flash web-sites, but little else. Where are they all getting their funding from? Not me that's for sure....

In case you hadn't guessed, I cannot abide people who use "like" all the time for no reason. I had someone in my GCSE class who did it so much we all used to end up in floods of tears if she was doing a speaking presentation.

Why stop at the Rookery - I think they spread all around the ground! I have to say that I've never understood why they go to matches....
