With hindsight, there is an easier way. As I said earlier, the police and school do nothing, and bullying today involves gangs, not individuals. Had I known the hell he was going through, I would have contacted the local headcase to get the ringleader to one side and explain exactly what would happen to him if he is involved in any more bullying. 2 bottles of scotch, job sorted.
When i was working in Glasgow, the manager of the shop was telling me they had the same thing in a small village where his mum had moved into a warden controlled bungalow. the local scrotes found it amusing to throw stones at windows, tear up plants, and generally cause chaos. One of the ladies had a son who ran two glasgow nightclubs, so one night a transit van took the ringleader for a free ride, returning him in just his boxers, and tarred and feathered. The errors of his ways were politely explained, and if he and his pals wished to continue, the option was a visit to the local hospital. Needless to say, there was no more bother to the elderly ladies.
Sad we have to resort to that sort of action, but the law quite simply doesn't work
