The best player of all time in my opinion retired today. To me they has never ever been a better player than he was at his peak. Boozing and partying made his career alot shorter than it should have been but he eclipsed even Ronaldo and Messi in his prime....

Maradona followed by Ronaldo(Brazilian one) for me. Obviously I can only go from my lifetime. Never saw enough of the likes of Pele, Best, Beckenbauer, Di Stéfano, Puskás, Eusébio, van Basten, Zico. So many greats before my time.

Ronaldo for me. Brazilian one.

He was immense aswell. Ronaldinho was the best for me though. I remeber watching him tear Chelsea apart in both legs around about 2004 playing with a young Messi and I couldnt believe what i was seeing.

He was an absolute genius mate. Im not even sure what that vid is i shared it was the first vid i saw but anyone that was lucky enough to remember him will also agree.
Fergie fooked up big time letting him slip and move to Barca when he was so close to signing for them.

Saw Best play live when I was a kid and consider myself fortunate. Watched Pele on the telly live a few times anarl. Best player I've seen though has to be Maradona. He did it in Spain and Italy when defenders were practically allowed to see if they could kick your balls into the stand. So many great ones to choose from, though. Cruyff was another who was mesmerizing on his day.

Ronny was one of the last great players I can think of in modern times that seemed to play the game for the fun of it and with the bag of tricks he had he was fantastic to watch.

Feels like modern 'flair' players are watered down compared to the likes of him, no matter how effective they are.

I think people automatically favour the player that was a stand out player for them during a certain time of their lives. Same as Phillips is the best striker weve ever had in my opinion but in a few years time some people will say Defoe was.

Pele for me, for the reasons you give here, before him it was Shack but mostly through hearsay.

No doubt, a muddy water logged Roker Park in January with a ball weighing half a ton would have separated the men from the boys. <laugh>
