Klopp's already a legend at Dortmund and Mainz; does he need Liverpool? And with that sort of calibre of manager, that may be a factor, but if there's any easier oute to success and money, why not take it? I.e. if we're competing with clubs that can offer easier routes to success and money, why not go there instead? They also have loyal fanbases (well, mostly...).
The PL and Liverpool is one tempting challenge I would have thought for the right man who really wants a challenge and not just a blank cheque. Houllier and Rafa, both top managers, took the challenge and both succeeded in different ways. We need a Klopp or Ancelotti level of manager now, prepared to put themselves out there and win the title by managing their way to it, not just buying it.

Sorry mate, but you're talking out your hoop here.

The commercial revenues generated by LFC with their corporate partners goes into the LFC accounts.

The dramatic rise in commercial revenues in the accounts since they took over proves this point.

There'd be no benefit for FSG to shovel sponsorship revenues into a different companies pot, when they've been desperately trying to stay the right side of the line over FFP.

Any links to show what your saying is correct apart from the figures FSG's accountants post after audit?

And both failed in one crucial one.

It would be great if we could get that sort of manager. And Klopp would, on the face of it, seem like a good fit. But can we find such a manager and can we tempt them to us instead of someone else?

Or is Rodgers in fact the man to take us forward?

Football's changed and is changing so fast. Violins out ...... There was a day when managers were paid pretty much the same whichever club they were at so the love of the game was what it was all about - same with players [although I'm sure some were on £200 a week when the rest were on £100]. Our situation now would have translated back then as a plum job bringing huge respect and sense of awe to the manager who could claim the title [Dalglish/Blackburn ...]. Now the top managers just want to sign on to one of a handful of already successful clubs where their biggest motivator is how much money will be handed over.

thanks tobes <ok>

so they are 350mil in the hole not 200 mil... still looks attractive at 600mil worth supposedly.

If they lfoated 30% of club value who much do you think they'd rake in if they did it on Uk stock market or us stock market..

So Martinez doesn't need to worry about missing his first EL game then <ok>

no they are so small they went out of their way to get cards on last day to avoid it.

[HASHTAG]#smalltimey[/HASHTAG].

all the work they did this year in europa is ineffect wasted as they post a blank year again and if they ever did find themselves by some miracle in CL they'd be 4th seeds and mullered.

could be the case.. they got a wee bit upset when they looked to be on the slide like hull but a few wins and they all shrugged and didn't care

The new TV deal will put them straight into profit if they keep the cost base stable, so they should be showing a genuine PBIT come this time next year.

Hard to stick a value on a football club as it all depends on the subjective view on the value of the intangible assets, the potential perceived future value in terms of it's marketability, and ultimately the reason the buyer wants to own it!

I doubt they'll float it personally, not at this stage anyway. If they sell it'd be the whole lot.

Once any hope of CL disappears what's to get excited about?

The EL is a pain in the arse and can harm your chase for the holy grail of CL football, so 7th or 11th who cares?

clearly you've just proved that your club gets too much money and settles for midtable then.

europa builds squads, builds reputation, capability and you might even get a cup run domestically out of that better set up.

The fact is EL has feck all money but it seems to matter to spanish clubs and they do well out of it.

perhaps as a small selling club you'd want to prove to the bigger fish that your players like barkey are not just fat numpties by giving them this platform like you did for lukaku.. he mst be worth what 20mil now as a result for scoring a few in there.
