I agree, but let's not put pressure on him to get it just now, let him build his team and implement his style before anything. I'm by no means expecting it to be a cake walk.

I know but the first time in 18 months, I have a bit of hope now. We'll have a manager and a coaching team who know how to coach and teach tactical discipline. Oh, and play players in their best positions!

Just his presence will give us momentum and will reunite the fanbase.

If your point is that we should have bought Williams when we had a chance and Rodgers wanted to (and the Committee allegedly overruled him), then you'd have no argument from me. Had we had Williams two seasons ago I really think we'd have won the league. But don't over-egg it and make out he's a Taffy Beckenbauer, ffs.

Tbh if this transfer committee is still in lace and telling Klopp who he can and can't sign I'd be very surprised if he's there that long. We all know he could walk away and walk straight into another big job.

Klopp will have the same problem at any other big club around Europe since the DoF and scouts make the decisions on signings.

They won't admit it, but for me this is the first time in a long time we're hiring someone who any team in the country would want.

You can't discuss the latter without the former, though.
I think you can.

So he flirted with Barcelona, it never happened and we cut our nose off to spite our face?? Who can blame him for wanting to play for his boyhood club which also happens to be one of the best in the world - all this after giving 9 years [and multiple Golden Glove seasons] to Liverpool for very little in return - I don't blame him one bit for wanting to go back to Spain.

Exactly! His name, his presence, his ability. We're getting a top class manager. This is similar to when we got Rafa - highly rated manager, won titles in his country, big connections as well.

Just like Rafa, Klopp has contacts in his home country - which now happens to be a golden generation of German footballers. So much talent and ability in that market. Hopefully he can exploit it just as Rafa did with Spanish players.

Hopefully we'll steer clear from the over priced British talent too, and allow Klopp to promote from within in that regard. It is interesting to see how he operates on a bigger budget and arguably a less functional committee behind him. For me, right now, he ticks all the boxes and that's mainly because he has that experience of a big club and the highest level, it won't be a step up for him, like it was for Brendan.
