Is tricky with fsg. No doubt they've done wonders for us as a club in terms of money, stadium, brand etc....all business type things but unfortunately they aren't football people and t shows at times. They don't have someone high up in their group that knows English or even European football. Ayre is there but he's an lfc employee.

I think they could have done with appointing someone with a bit more knowledge (didn't they want a dof originally byt Rodgers said no?) to help that side.

I think overall they've been a 8/10 money wise and a 5/10 football wise. They're still learning though

Yeah It's a tough one, as they've got us out of some serious **** and also showed they're happy to get their wallet out.

I'm sure over time they'll come good, but it will take time. I think their models and business efforts have been spot on - they just need some good old British direction!!

There's a lot of assumption on here! Have a feeling that it'll not be either Klopp or Ancellotti. Although would be happy with either.

While I'm happy that Rodgers has gone, FSG need to Change their ways too. They've failed badly and we need a change of direction. I cannot say a top ne coming into the club if it's run as it currently is.

Am hoping that this has all been planned properly now. <ok>

It's happened at last. It was inevitable. Do FSG read these threads? :bandit:

Looking back at events, it now seemed they were unhapppy at the performance last season: they sacked the coaches but for mysterious reason retained Rodgers and allowed him to recruit.

I wonder whether Rodgers knew about the sacking well before. He was talking about no pressure and significant rebuild yesterday post match. And he looked crushed.

Klopp will be my first choice. He has shown he can build a top team on a lower budget. But he is new to the premiership and as van Gaal has found, the premiership is different to other foreign leagues.

It looks the head hunting has already been done as they are announcing the new man this week.

Whoever he is he needs to be given time and money.

Tony Barrett wrote an interesting piece this morning which highlights the conflicts between Rodgers and the Committee:-

- Rodgers would have final say on transfers but had to compromise on targets if the committee didn't rate them (bit of a contraditction!)

- Rodgers refused to sign Sturridge because he wanted Clint Dempsey

- Rodgers threatened to resign if FSG didn't sign Allen

- Committee looks set to remain and highlights FSG's faith in the structure.

- Also highlights that there is a strong belief that another manager will get more out of the current resources than Rodgers could.\

- Conflict between Rodgers and committee were evident as committee recommendations were picked over Rodgers's preferred targets - these include Sturridge, Sakho, Can, Markovic, Moreno and Firmino. Rodgers believed that by compromising on certain targets, it would give him bargaining power over others i.e. Lallana, Lovren and Benteke.

Could they have had in mind that Klopp wanted some time off and they took a gamble thinking he'd wanna come back by mid-october.
When we all saw the new fixture list most thought we'd be in the position we are after 10 games.

IMO we have a very good squad and just need to sort out the centre backs, there's not a huge job that a new manager has here, it's also early in the season so plenty of time to get a run of wins and climb the table.

Also, maybe because I'm watching MOTD2 and just rewatching our game... but Mig had a stormer today to be fair. The save from Naismith's header is world class.

It wasn't just because you were watching MOTD2, he did have a very good game. Can't recall him doing anything wrong, he pulled off a few world class saves and his kicking was decent too.

It must be great being a football manager. How much richer is Rodgers today than he was yesterday? He's been considered a failure by his employer and they've rewarded him for letting them down. Mourinho signed a new contract a few weeks ago. He'll be in for a cool £20million when Roman sacks him. LVG's made a mistake in telling the world that he wants to retire at the end of next season. No big pay off for him!

Everyone associated with football nowadays are greedy batards, just taken a while for everyone to be as greedy as players. MPs and those in football must be the easiest jobs to do nowadays as you still get rewarded for being ****e.
Its a backwards world we live in lol
