Whilst Mourinho is having a very difficult season, let's not forget that this man has won 8 league titles, 2 CL's and a UEFA Cup in 10.5 years of management.

Bar Porto, and one season at Chelsea, show me the team he built.

Then show me the team he rebuilt.

If that's the guy you are setting the bar with in the search of making us great again......

I agree to some extent - he's not an ideal fit and he's not my number 1 choice.

But how can anyone turn their nose up at him...

I can. You have said you dont want a fan base divided? He will.

You dont want a manager who will throw players under the bus? He will.

You don't want a manager that spends more time talking **** in front of the camera than dealing with issues? He will.

You dont want a manager who's ego is big he won't admit he's wrong? ...

**** me, he's Brendan on steroids...And with us he wouldn't have the money or CL to walk in too.

Why not? They're are exactly the same personalities. One got lots of money and ready built teams the other didn't...where did Rodgers learn half his craft again?

Because one manager has won everything in the game and the other hasn't won anything.

Mourinho's arrogance is from his success. Rodgers's arrogance is just pure delusion.

Don't get me wrong, I have 2 or 3 other managers ahead of Mourinho. But there's no way we're in a position to say no to him, even as a last resort. <ok>

Quite easily....unless supporting your club is based solely on trophies <ok> We all want to win things desperately of course but to do so with a man like Maureen in charge would be hollow and short lived....if and when we finally **** Brent off I want a man who will build not just the trophy cabinet but the identity too. Do we want a man who wins things for himself or who wins things for us?

Lol..And as I said, I question how much of that success is down to his "brilliance" and how much he walked into..

He's been found out....

A lot of teams spend a lot of money, including ourselves but achieve little. Still takes a lot of skill to set up teams and ultimately win.

I know mate and he's definitely not an ideal fit. But the club is about winning and he would certainly bring that. You're right to be concerned about the long term but no doubt he would get us back in the mix before he left and then we can build on that.

No James the club isn't about winning....it's about love :)

A man who wins things for us is ideal.

We thought we had a winner in Rodgers when he arrived. With all the potential in the world.
Look how that turned out.
They'll probably go for Howe or Monk. I.e Rodgers Mk2.
Where as we need a winner to get the ball rolling.
I'd love a world class manager like Ancelotti to steady the ship and get us used to winning things.
Then groom a young manager through the ranks to give us our identity.

Long term world love Stevie G and Alonso / Cara.

But surely by what you have said on here Mourinho has failed spectacularly. He took a team that was PL winning quality, won it one season by adding a striker that everybody knew was all they needed and has then somehow managed to screw up the one thing he's supposed to be good at (organisation and defence), been terrible in the transfer market and now made a PL winning team, mid table cannon fodder.

He's not had to build that team and had the money to just add and yet he's below Rodgers in the league and playing the same if not worse football??????
